Volunteering at Oaksedge
Welcome to Oaksedge Sanctuary - a peaceful rescue sanctuary and rewilding project set within the Derbyshire countryside.
Home to more than 250 rescued animals, Oaksedge provides lifelong care to animals who have come from neglect, abandonment, industrial farming systems and uncertain situations. Alongside animal rescue and rehabilitation, the sanctuary is also restoring natural habitats through an ongoing rewilding programme designed to support biodiversity and local wildlife.
Volunteering at Oaksedge is hands-on, physical and incredibly rewarding. Daily tasks can include feeding animals, mucking out stables and shelters, cleaning enclosures, preparing bedding, grooming, assisting with maintenance work and helping maintain the land and surrounding environment.
The sanctuary is home to a wide range of animals including pigs, sheep, horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, parrots and more - all with their own individual personalities and care needs.

To help maintain the values and daily operation of the sanctuary, volunteers must:
